PROJECT Overview

Image (1).jpg

Fix our Future is a project, supported by Clifford Chance, which seeks to equip, enable and empower young Londoners to take initiative in addressing London’s climate challenges. We are organising civic education workshops in schools,  colleges, and universities, and developing a climate action toolkit to support hands-on learning about climate-related community issues. Our approach is youth-centric, leveraging technology and experiential learning to empower young climate activists and build climate-resilient communities across London.

Targeting areas with limited access to food banks, we are developing and operating an expanding network of community fridges, hoping to reduce food wastes and alleviate food poverty under the ongoing Cost of Living Crisis.

Working with the Oxford and Cambridge Global Shapers Hubs, we are running a mentorship programme to make sustainability careers related resources accessible for youth from different academic and socioeconomic backgrounds.

The World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2025 reminds us that true gender equality remains a distant prospect, with full parity projected to take more than a century at the current pace. In response to this ongoing gap, Global Shapers London Hub II initiated a programme to better understand and address the everyday challenges women face in the workplace. Grounded in the lived experiences of early- and mid-career women in London, the programme moves beyond theory to offer practical, community-based solutions that build confidence, foster connection, and promote advocacy.

The UK continues to face a severe cost-of-living crisis, disproportionately affecting young people navigating an already precarious job market and post-COVID recovery. Recognising this, Ilayda initiated a research-driven project in 2022 to investigate and address the impact on youth empowerment. In 2024–25, London Hub II joined this mission, building a pan-UK initiative rooted in peer-to-peer learning, accessible resources, and public engagement. The project aims not just to raise awareness but to foster a youth-led response that is empowering, practical, and scalable.

CREATE is a social impact programme aiming to widen access to the exclusive arts and culture industry in the UK. Having 8 development tracks across the creative sector, including Art, Fashion, Film/TV, Architecture, Publishing, Music, Advertising and Museums/Heritage, this 6-month programme aims to prepare aspiring creators from disadvantaged background for a creative career via masterclasses, workshops, 1:1 mentorship, panel discussion series, and secured placements.

PAST PROJECTS

The Big 5 aims to bring together thought leaders from various sectors – industry, policymaking, academia, and most importantly, the general public, particularly those whose lives are currently, or will be, fundamentally transformed by AI. Our focus encompasses five critical areas - education, climate change, healthcare, employment, and the cost-of-living crisis. By developing an AI white paper, we aim to stimulate discussions on utilising AI to address these significant issues and identify ways forward to prepare today's youth for a future that effectively harnesses AI.

We are developing "Shapers Directory" - an intermediary online platform facilitating 1:1 connection between Shapers and students based on specific strengths and knowledge needs. We aim to create a mentorship marketplace, fostering knowledge exchange and empowering students with future-proof skills.

Targeting the London fashion industry, we are delivered sustainability training and personalised coaching to 6 young London fashion brands to help them decarbonise and develop tailored sustainability strategies. Supported by Carbon Trust.
